The Community Foundation is proud to be the philanthropic partner for the Shenandoah Valley Kiwanis Club which dedicates its philanthropy to addressing the needs of children in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Through their donor-advised fund at the Community Foundation, the Shenandoah Valley Kiwanis Club donates to organizations that assist children in our area. Please note that organizations with missions that are not specifically children-focused are still eligible for funding and are encouraged to apply.
The Shenandoah Valley Kiwanis Club reviews grant applications following two application deadlines: March 15 and July 15. Their grants generally range from $200 to $500. If you are seeking a grant of less than $200 or over $500, the Club asks that you first submit a letter of request to the Club (PO Box 513, Staunton, VA 24402-0513). They also recommend that you have a member of their Club serve as an advocate for your request in these special situations.
Organizations may receive only one grant annually and must reapply each year for consideration. In the event that the Club does not award a grant in response to your application submitted for their consideration in the Spring , the Club will automatically review your application again in the Fall. Consequently, you do not need to re-apply in advance of the Club’s July 15 deadline.
We encourage you to contact us with any questions before applying and we thank you for providing services to our community.
