The Salvation Army – Waynesboro

Why We Exist

To preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

What We Do

The Salvation Army in Waynesboro provides emergency social services for individuals and families in crisis. Additionally, there is the Pathway of Hope Program which offers long term transformational change for families. There is also seasonal help such as the Angel Tree program and Back to School assistance. Additionally, there are youth enrichment programs, a summer camp, and a youth music program. All are open to school aged children.

Who We Serve

The Salvation Army serves men, women, and children who live in poverty or who experience financial crisis. The youth served are at risk children who do not have the same opportunities as others because they cannot afford basic expenses, let alone pay for music lessons, scouting programs, or summer camp.

Where We Serve

Why Community Members Support Our Work
Need Knows No Season – It’s Not Just the Ringing of Bells The Salvation Army has served the Waynesboro and Eastern Augusta County since 1936. You might only think of the ringing bells during the Christmas season, but there is so much work which takes place. The Salvation Army provides emergency assistance to local residents that need help with rent and utilities. The Pathway of Hope Program is a long-term program that helps families break down barriers that keep them in poverty. Clients must agree to work in partnership with the Army to create plans to improve their lives and the lives of their children. The Salvation Army provides youth character building programs, music lessons, and summer camp opportunities.
