Program Overview: Founded in 1962, the Staunton Choral Society is a non-auditioned adult choir of mixed voices—soprano, alto, tenor and bass. The repertoire includes a variety of styles from classical to folk, contemporary, sacred, light pop. The Director is Dr. Raymond Hebert and the accompanist is Jihye Lovelace. We offer a free, community chorus open to all who love to sing with opportunities to learn and improve vocal skills. We offer two free concerts each year, and perform at several community events, including Praise in the Park, Caroling in the Park, Staunton Pac’n the Streets, and more. All members including our Director and Accompanist (who receive modest honoriarums ) are volunteers. Free-will offerings at concerts, member fees, and donations are the sources of income.
