The Youth Philanthropy Council (YPC) serving Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County is proud to announce the following grants totaling $25,000 for 2018:
Blue Ridge CASA for Children: Support advocacy efforts for abused and neglected children.
Creative Works Farm: Support their summer camp for children with medical, physical, and behavioral diagnoses and other special needs, including at-risk youth.
Elk Hill Farm: Support their literacy program for students reading below grade level.
Girls on the Run: Support their physical activity-based positive youth development (PYD) program designed to enhance girls’ social, psychological and physical skills.
Ride With Pride: Support their therapeutic equine programs for youth.
The Salvation Army – Waynesboro: Support their summer camp for low income children.
Valley Children’s Advocacy Center: Support forensic interviewing services for victims of child abuse and neglect.
Valley Hope Counseling Center: Support affordable and accessible mental health services for youth.
Valley Mission: Support their after school program designed to assist children living at the shelter with homework assignments and development of good studying habits.
The Youth Philanthropy Council serving Highland County awarded the following grants totaling $10,000 for 2018:
Allegheny Mountain Institute: Increase healthy food access to the community.
Blue Ridge Area Food Bank: Supplement food for the Highland Mobile Food Pantry.
Dare to Dream: Support their therapeutic horsemanship scholarship(s).
Highland County Respite Care & Hospice Support Services: Continue to provide respite and hospice services to community members by purchasing medical equipment.
Valley Program for Aging Services: Support of their senior transportation program.
