The John Moore Memorial Fund benefits Renewing Homes of Greater Augusta, the community service organization that John most actively supported during his lifetime.
An architect and builder, John gave his time to many notable civic and conservation organizations, but Renewing Homes of Greater Augusta was the nonprofit agency that was most dear to his heart is.
It is an all-volunteer organization that quietly and efficiently rehabilitates homes for low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly and those with disabilities. Whether designing wheelchair ramps, retrofitting bathrooms for accessibility, or simply returning someone’s house to a livable condition, John was committed to repairing the homes of those who needed it most.
John’s death in April 2010 left our community without one of its most committed and hard-working volunteers. Now, with the creation of this fund that bears his name, the organization that John worked so hard to build receives an annual grant (from the fund’s earnings) enabling RHGA to continue their vitally important work.
