As part of its mission to enrich the quality of life in our community, the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge has announced the opening of their 2018 Community Grants Program application period.
Nonprofit organizations serving the needs of the independent cities of Staunton and Waynesboro, and the counties of Augusta, Nelson, and Highland may apply for support from this program by Monday, February 12, 2018. They may access the application through the Foundation’s website at http://bit.ly/2nweGvJ.
By December 31, the Foundation will have distributed grants, scholarships, and awards this year in excess of $1 million, of which they presented $335,000 through their Community Grants Program. Those grants supported a wide range of charitable activities, including the arts, health and human services, education, and much more. The Foundation anticipates distributing a similar amount, if not more, in 2018.
As the Foundation celebrates its 25th anniversary, it continues its commitment to broad-based engagement for the greater good of the community. With $25 million in assets, they have thus far distributed over $10 million since their founding in 1992. The Community Grants Program is made possible thanks to the generous and thoughtful support of many donors throughout the community.
Nonprofit organizations interested in applying for a grant, or college-bound high school students and adult learners seeking scholarship aid, should begin by reviewing the Foundation’s various grant and scholarship programs and their deadlines on the Foundation’s website at www.cfcbr.org. This includes not only the Community Grants Program, but also the grants made available through the Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Council, which has an application deadline of January 5.
