Roy B. Martin Memorial Scholarship-SDHS

The Roy B. Martin Memorial Scholarship was created to memorialize the life of the late Roy B. Martin. Mr. Martin was a long time educator in Waynesboro and Augusta County Public Schools.


The Roy B. Martin Memorial Scholarship was established to provide funds for college scholarships to graduating seniors of Stuarts Draft High School who demonstrate academic achievement and are active in the community. Scholarship recipients are eligible to re-apply for a second year of funding as long as the recipient continues to meet scholarship criteria and funds are available.


  • An eligible student must be a graduating senior at Stuarts Draft High School.
  • An eligible student must demonstrate financial need, academic achievement and participate in school and community service/activities.
  • An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year and plan to enroll at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the Continental United States the following academic year.

Selection Criteria Used by the Selection Committee

  • Financial Need- 50%
  • Academic Merit- 25%
  • Community service/activities- 25%
  • Those selected must be solid academically, as well as active in the community.
  • The candidate will be selected by the Stuarts Draft High School scholarship selection committee for recommendation to the Community Foundation, in accordance with the Community Foundation’s Conflict of Interest Policy.

2022 Award Amount

$1,950 (renewable for one additional year)
