SVKC Grant Program Update:
Much has changed for everyone as we are all faced with uncertainty each day in our lives as the corona-virus pandemic unfolds. With that said, the Shenandoah Valley Kiwanis Club has reevaluated their strategic giving approach and goals for the 2020 grant season and has decided to direct their 2020 grant funding to the Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Local Response Fund.
Guiding the distribution of resources from the COVID-19 Local Response Fund will be a partnership consisting of the Community Foundation, United Way, Augusta Health, CAPSAW, officials from Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County, business leaders, and others. Through communications with nonprofit organizations, business leaders, and community members, this group has identified areas of critical need where funding will have the most immediate and significant impact.
The Shenandoah Valley Kiwanis Club will open its grant application program in January 2021.
The Community Foundation is proud to be the philanthropic partner for the Shenandoah Valley Kiwanis Club which dedicates its philanthropy to addressing the needs of children in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Through their donor-advised fund at the Community Foundation, the Shenandoah Valley Kiwanis Club donates to organizations that assist children in our area. Their giving strategy is to fund organizations and projects where children receive direct impact through services, programs, materials and equipment designed to clearly support and enhance the lives and experiences of children in the Staunton, Augusta, and Waynesboro area.
Thank you for providing services to our community!
