The Dr. Valerie Weiss Memorial Scholarship was established by family and friends to honor her memory. Dr. Valerie Weiss was passionate about learning when it came to veterinary medicine, nature, and gardening. She loved spending time outdoors and hiking in the mountains. Dr. Weiss dedicated herself to the community by working at the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro and had been widely known for her love of animals and her compassionate treatment and care, not only of her patients but to all she met.
Eligibility
- An eligible student must be a graduating senior at Wilson Memorial High School.
- An eligible applicant must have plans to study the following (in order by priority):
- 1) pre-veterinary medicine, 2) animal studies, 3) environmental science, or 4) biology related degrees.
- An eligible student must demonstrate financial need.
- An eligible applicant must be enrolled or plan to enroll at an accredited two-year or four-year institution
