Dr. Eric W. Bond Scholarship
About the Scholarship
The Dr. Eric W. Bond Scholarship honors the distinguished service and lasting contributions of Dr. Eric Bond, who led Augusta County Public Schools as Superintendent from 2014 until his retirement on December 31, 2025.
Established by colleagues, the Augusta County School Board, and the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge, this scholarship celebrates Dr. Bond’s dedication to students, families, and educators throughout the county. In December 2025, Dr. Bond was surprised with the announcement during a School Board meeting — a testament to the deep respect and gratitude felt across the division.
Awards
Each year, the Dr. Eric W. Bond Scholarship will provide at least two awards to graduating seniors of Augusta County Public Schools:
One scholarship for a student pursuing a four-year degree, and
One scholarship for a student pursuing post-secondary training in a technical or trade field (leading to a two-year degree or certification).
Initial funding comes from an endowment administered by The Community Foundation on behalf of Augusta County Public Schools since 2002. Dr. Bond will help guide the development of selection criteria, beginning with awards for the Class of 2026.
