Kiger-Obaugh Scholarship

Friends of the late John Kiger (1955-2016) and Alan Obaugh (1959-2024) have established a scholarship to honor these two exceptional individuals and to support Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County youth pursue their college aspirations. 

Eligibility

  • An eligible applicant must be a high school senior who resides in Staunton, Waynesboro, or Augusta County, Virginia.
  • An eligible applicant must be planning to attend Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA.
  • An eligible application must demonstrate financial need.

2025 Award

To be determined.

The Kiger-Obaugh Scholarship will be held and administered by the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge, which accepts contributions of all forms, including:

  • Checks made payable and delivered to the Community Foundation (P.O. Box 815, Staunton, VA 24402)
  • Online contributions placed on your credit card or debit card
  • Appreciated securities
  • IRA Charitable Rollovers
