Why We Exist

H.E.L.P. is a community organization that lends medical goods free of charge to those in the community who need them. H.E.L.P. is run by a collective of churches and other volunteers and has a 501(3)c status. We also distribute free health consumables to those who need them as available. We accept equipment donations during open hours. Equipment is evaluated, cleaned, repaired/maintained, and put into inventory. We are 100% volunteer-run.

Why Community Members Support Our Work
HELP Health Equipment Loan Program is a 501(3)c organization run by a collective of churches. The main facility is located in Churchville with a satellite facility in Highland County and one in Fishersville. Health care costs rise, and people have to make choices regarding essential needs. Many health items are not covered by health insurance or medicare. Even those that are covered are not always available when people need them. All of our workers are volunteers, no paid staff. Much of our marketing materials are donated. HELP is engaging in a Capital Campaign. We have grown far greater and faster than we ever expected. In 2019 we loaned out 2129 pieces of equipment plus 40 hospitals beds with 434 renewals to 1098 individuals. We have 3181 pieces of equipment in inventory. Last year we had over 1500 volunteer hours to keep our facility open ten hours spread over three days each week. We have teams that do many tasks. We also get help to evaluate, clean, maintain, and repair our inventory by youth groups, scout troops, and regular volunteers. Volunteers welcome. Total Cost saving to HELP clients for the 2019$186,615.00 Monthly Avg. savings for clients we serve$ 15,551.00
