The Morgan R. Funk Memorial Scholarship was established to provide funds for college scholarships to graduating seniors of Riverheads High School.
Eligibility
An eligible student must be a senior at Riverheads High School.
An eligible student must demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, citizenship, and strong participation in school activities and community service.
An eligible student must be well rounded and have specific interest in art, music, the environment and/or biology, and plan to further his/her education in one of these areas.
An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year and plan to enroll at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the Continental United States the following academic year.
Selection Criteria Used by the Selection Committee
Financial need – 25%
Academic merit – 25% (minimum 2.5 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale)
School and community service activities and citizenship – 50%
The candidate will be selected by the Riverheads High School scholarship selection committee for recommendation to the Community Foundation, in accordance with the Community Foundation’s Conflict of Interest Policy.
